NATIONAL TRUCK DRIVER APPRECIATION WEEK

We’re celebrate the backbone of our industry —our dedicated truck drivers. From September 15th through the 21st show the appreciating for the people who get out goods safely, securely, and on time, and keep our highways safe. Learn how you can show your appreciation and recognize their hard work.

FMCSA PHISHING ALERT: FAKE SAFETY AUDIT

The FMCSA has issued a warning about phishing emails pretending to be from FMCSA, asking for sensitive information like Social Security Numbers and USDOT PINs. These fake emails often threaten fines for non-compliance. They may also ask for certificates of insurance and driver’s license information. The emails appear legitimate but use fake addresses like safety@fmcsa.gov. FMCSA advises not to click on suspicious links and to verify communications through official channels. NHTSA REPORTS A 25% INCREASE IN VEHICLE THEFT

In 2023, vehicle thefts in the U.S. surged by 25%, with over 1 million vehicles stolen, costing owners $8 billion. The NHTSA’s Vehicle Theft Prevention Campaign in July aims to raise awareness, especially as summer is the peak season for thefts. To protect your vehicle, always lock doors, take keys, park in well-lit areas, and avoid leaving valuables inside. Utilize anti-theft devices, such as alarms, immobilizers, and vehicle recovery systems. If your vehicle is stolen, immediately report it to the police and your insurance company.
