Answer:
In order to qualify as a Covered Farm Vehicle, there are six (6) requirements the motor carrier must meet, the 2nd of which states that the commercial motor vehicle “Is operated by an owner or operator of a farm or ranch, or by a family member or employee of the owner or operator”. Therefore if the food producer does not own the farm or ranch, they cannot claim CFV status.
