Thorn Valley Safety

Myths

"Unless I operate a large commercial truck or bus fleet, I really don't need a fleet safety program or a company safety policy."

"Unless my fleet falls under DOT guidelines, I really don't have to worry about safety rules or regulations."

Truth

Any motor vehicle should be considered a lethal weapon capable of inflicting serious damage, altering and ending lives in the blink of an eye. Companies have been sued for damages, even forced to close their doors and some employees have even served time in jail due to negligence or unsafe practices. Too often, these shortcomings result in injury, collision, pain, suffering and lost lives. Even if your company is not a traditional "trucking" or "transport" operation, if it operates vehicle(s) of any kind, including non-owned autos, a written safety program should still be in place.
